Dr. Davtyan, MD, FACS, FICS, is board-certified in surgery and bariatric medicine in the Los Angeles, California area. Since his initial medical field was treating cancer patients, his approach for patient management in bariatric surgery became empathetic. While other surgeons focused mainly on immediate results, his prime goal became patients’ long term health.

This attitude made patients comfortable with him to proceed with the weight loss program. After 10 years of practice, when he came to know about the LAP-BAND procedure, he went to study it in Brussels, Belgium and became the first surgeon in the US to offer the procedure in 2001. Thereafter, he has treated hundreds of patients.
