Dr. Lalezari completed advanced fellowship training in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine, where he trained in laparoscopic, robotic, endoscopic, and single-site surgical techniques and later served as an instructor. His bariatric expertise includes Sleeve Gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Mini Gastric Bypass, SADI-S, Duodenal Switch, Adjustable Gastric Banding, and complex Revisional Bariatric Surgery. He also performs endoscopic weight-loss procedures including Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) and Transoral Outlet Reduction (TORe).

Dr. Lalezari is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He has published research in peer-reviewed surgical journals and has presented research at major surgical conferences. He was named a Los Angeles Magazine Top Doctor in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2026 and was recognized as a Super Doctors Rising Star from 2023 through 2025.
