Dr. Umbach, MD, FACS, is a board-certified, nationally recognized general surgeon with more than 22 years of surgical experience. He has helped thousands of patients with obesity-related health conditions. His expertise includes – Laparoscopic Bypass surgeries, LAP-BAND procedures, and Microsleeve surgeries. He patented his Safe Sleeve Procedure, his specialized way of performing vertical sleeve gastrectomy in 2018.

He obtained his Medical Degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.
Thereafter, he went to Kaiser Permanente, Los Angles Medical Center to do his Surgical Residency. He did his Fellowship Training from the University of Southern California.
