Dr. Sosa began his medical practice in general surgery with a particular focus on the treatment of heartburn. In 2001, he developed a strong interest in bariatric surgery, performing his first gastric bypass procedure in March of that year. Since then, he has completed over 10,000 bariatric surgeries, establishing himself as a leader in the field.

Throughout his career, Dr. Sosa has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters in both General and Laparoscopic Surgery. His research has been featured in esteemed publications such as the Journal of Laparoendoscopic Surgery and the Journal of the American College of Surgeons.
