Dr. Almutlaq completed her General Surgery Residency, followed by a Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at McGill University. At the start of her career, she worked at numerous hospitals, including the Jewish General Hospital and Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montreal (CHUM). She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) and a member of multiple national and international associations, including the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO). Since joining the team at Clinique Michel Gagner, she has used her outstanding surgical skills to help countless individuals with their weight loss journey through bariatric surgery and minimally invasive procedures, particularly through the use of innovative techniques such as swallowable gastric balloons, of which she is the sole provider in Quebec. Dr. Almutlaq continues to push boundaries and embrace medical innovation to help patients to achieve everlasting results.
