He has significant experience in corrective and revisional surgery to resolve problems after previous procedures, and regularly manages high risk patients with major medical conditions, some with extreme obesity; Dr Taylor performed a sleeve gastrectomy on the largest patient ever to undergo surgery in Australia at 370kg. His focus on precision and strict operative standards ensure that Dr Taylors complication rates are amongst the lowest in the world. He has pioneered a number of advances in surgical technique, short stay surgical protocols, and multi-disciplinary team management to ensure his patients receive the best possible care.

Dr Taylor is highly committed to education and actively involved in teaching other doctors, nurses and medical students. He has trained numerous surgeons from all over Australia and abroad who have worked under his guidance at Concord hospital Upper Gastrointestinal Surgical Fellowship program or have attended Bariatric Masterclass Clinical Immersions at the Mater Private hospital. Dr Taylor graduated from the University of Sydney in 1997 and qualified as a Surgeon in 2004 with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgical Society (ANZMOSS), Australian and New Zealand Gastro-Oesophageal Surgery Association (ANZGOSA), and International Federation of Surgery for Obesity (IFSO).

Education:

Dr. Taylor graduated with honours from the University of Sydney, receiving the Robert Craig Prize in Surgery in 1997.
He trained in General Surgery at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney.
He undertook further subspecialty training in bariatric, keyhole, and upper gastrointestinal surgery in various locations, including Queensland, France, and the United States.
