Dr. Brathwaite, MD, FACS, FASMBS, is a board-certified general surgeon with more than 35 years of experience. He is a Bariatric Surgery and Critical Care Surgery specialist. He is an expert in Laparoscopic Procedures – Gastric Banding, Gastric Bypass, and Sleeve Gastrectomy. He is also skilled in Robotic Gastric Bypasses, and Laparoscopic Revisional Surgery including banding, bypass and laparoscopic revision of prior open Vertical Banded Gastroplasty. He is highly qualified in performing minimally invasive general surgery procedures with a major focus on gastrointestinal surgery.

Medical background:

He obtained his Medical Degree from the Howard University College of Medicine. He completed his Surgical Residency from St Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City and went to the University of Maryland for his Fellowship Training in Trauma and Critical Care.
